GBTI Commits to long term I love Guyana Tourist Park partnership, opens arms for more joint initiatives

GBTI has indicated its long term commitment to partnering with the Guyana Tourism and Hospitality Association in supporting the maintenance of Guyana’s latest tourist attraction -the I love Guyana 3-dimensional sign, which was officially launched yesterday.

“This is a fantastic initiative,” said GBTI Director Mr. Suresh Beharry speaking at the official ceremony on the lawns of GBTI. “It’s not a one year project, it’s not a one year commitment, I think I can safely say on behalf of the board and the members of GBTI that this will be a long term relationship,” he concluded.

Beharry said GBTI is very happy to be associated with the project. The Bank was the lone company to have sponsored the sign in partnership with THAG and Impressions.

He said Guyanese need to develop a deeper sense for patriotism which is affected by our fractured society, and underscored other speakers’ sentiments that a divided house cannot prosper.

“Unless we fix it there will be no prosperity for Guyana moving forward…I am hoping that this sign can start us in the direction to fix that so Guyana can really take its place in the Caribbean, in the world … wherever it is that GBTI can continue to promote and assist Guyanese: companies and individuals to better themselves, to promote Guyana, we stand ready to help because as it says we see Guyana through your eyes,” Mr. Beharry noted.

GBTI’s maintenance role in this project will include the supply of power to the Park, maintenance and other possible enhancements.

This is just another of many Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that the Bank has undertaken. Other CSR initiatives by GBTI include the GBTI Sponsored Buxton Steel Orchestra, the GBTI Open Lawn Tennis and the GBTI Summer Camp among others.
